The Green Party is an international party found in nearly 90 countries worldwide. In countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany, Mexico, Canada and Ireland, Greens hold Federal positions in Parliaments and Congresses. Within the United States, Greens have been elected to state assemblies, and there are currently Green mayors in New York and California, including Mayor Gayle McLaughlin, of Richmond. As of October 2012, there were 134 elected Greens in various positions across the US. As of December 2013, there are 55 elected Greens in California.
The Green Party of San Mateo County is part of the Green Party of California, with numerous registered members who live from the bay to the ocean.
